A proud graduate of the University of Illinois, graduating in May of 2017, I earned my Bachelor's Degree in English Literature and Language Arts, while also earning a minor in Social Work. During my time at the university, I worked with the Fightin' Illini football team as a videographer, recording games and practices for the coaches. After a year, I realized that video was more than a tool, it was a medium for people to tell a story; visual content as a whole, should be used to tell the story of people. In that moment, I decided that I would purchase a camera and start my own photography and videography business.
In 2015, I bought my first camera, a Canon 70D, and the process began. With a limited amount of experience, I took a few jobs here and there, spending time on learning the mechanics of the camera. But as I progressed, I found myself excited to take on more jobs and I tried to explore the creative world as best I could. By May of 2016, I completed a social work documentary and a collection of 2016 graduates, amongst a variety of other things. By the year's end, I worked on three music videos and covered a plethora of events for Illini Union Marketing Department.
Each experience was vastly different, but I could see my growth in the projects, and I was excited to learn more. In 2017, I was blessed to work with Moos Elementary School as the director and producer of the documentary The Road to Inclusion: Bella's Story, a story focusing on the importance of including special needs children within the general education classroom. After that, I was able to work with Sincerely Ritchurd, a YouTube talk show series highlighting minority fashion, in the same capacity for several episodes. These two projects, along with a some brand identity shoots and variety of photoshoots allowed me to work on my craft as a director, producer, photographer, and videographer, and opened up some amazing doors for me.
In February of 2018, I was blessed with the opportunity to start as an intern for NFL Films in Mount Laurel, NJ; a dream come true. From February to May, I worked closely with Emmy Award Winning Producers, learning as much from them as I could and developing my ability to tell a story. It was nothing short of a blessing.
Now, I am excited for any project or task that anyone may have for me, and I hope to tell your story in the best way possible.
